\nJob Summary\nThe Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern is looking for an MRI Researcher to join our team. The MRI Researcher position will play a vital role in advancing cutting-edge research using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques. This research position involves designing, conducting, and analyzing MRI studies, contributing to publications, and potentially seeking grant funding. The researcher will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, scientists, and engineers, working within a dynamic and innovative research environment.
\nWe are looking for an MRI Researcher with a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree in a relevant discipline. The researcher should have experience in one or more of the following domains that has resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals:

- Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging \n
- Hyperpolarized 13C -MRI, X-nuclei MRI \n
- Advanced image reconstruction \n
- Pulse sequence programming \n
- PET-MR imaging and metabolic imaging data analysis. \n
Additionally, experience in heart or lung imaging, as well as knowledge of heart and lung metabolism, is desirable. Preferred qualifications include expertise in acquiring, processing, and analyzing human MRI data, along with proficiency in data analysis and post-processing using R, MATLAB or Python.
\nExperience and Education\nMaster s degree with major coursework in field of assignment and three (3) years of laboratory experience including at least two years at level of Research Assistant II or equivalent. or
\nBachelor's degree with major coursework in field of assignment and four (4) years of laboratory experience including two years at level of Research Assistant II or equivalent.
\nJob Duties\nRecommends and/or initiates new or modified procedures and techniques based upon latest developments in assigned field or analysis of research data.
\nPerforms computer programming for accumulation and analysis of research data.
\nDesigns, constructs, repairs, or modifies electronic and/or mechanical equipment or apparatus used in experiments and research projects.
\nInstructs medical students, graduate students, residents, or other laboratory personnel of lower grade with respect to techniques, procedures, and equipment utilized in research or experiments.
\nAssists principal investigator and other professional personnel in writing reports and papers for publication.
\nMay provide working supervision to employees of lower grade engaged in performance of variety of difficult and complex laboratory work tasks.
