Job Details
Business Analyst Oakland, CA 94612 (REMOTE with some travel) 9 Months Note:
- Manager prefers local candidates in client service territory but is open to non-local within us.
- Assignment is mostly remote but may be asked for occasional meetings at one of the offices either in OAKLAND, San Ramon or Fresno(reimbursement for travel can be provided when we request meetings in our facilities. based on the candidate's location, this could include airfare, mileage, lodging, and per diem for meals.).
- If selected candidate is outside of client service territory the laptop and any additional equipment is responsibility of candidate. Client laptop issued within service territory and additional equipment needed responsibility of candidate. Meetings and call will be conducted via MS Teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Performs analysis on moderately complex data models selecting from various reports and data options.
- Assist engineers and subject matter experts with creation of new data models, compiling data from various sources.
- Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to achieve desired data outcomes.
- Understands business needs, develops new reports and performs custom/ad-hoc reporting working independently. Presents findings to various audiences.
- Performs basic research internally and externally.
- Communicates with peers inside and outside the department exchanging ideas or gathering information.
- Participates on project teams.
Education Minimum
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
Experience Minimum: 2 years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Desired)
- Knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics
- Knowledge of electric utilities and/or high voltage electric substations and substation equipment
- Knowledge of asset management and risk calculations
- Full understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling and how different factors affect business outcomes
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
- Organizational, prioritization and multi- tasking skills.
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
Technical Competencies:
- Advanced in Information Analysis, Metrics and KPI Tracking

- General understanding in Operational Monitoring & Analysis, Advocacy and Persuasion, and Presentation Skills
- Programming/coding languages, such as Python, C, C++, or Visual Basic
