Technical Support Analyst to support VSP's new job applicant background check and employment background check program

Complete Description

The Technical Support Analyst will support VSP's new job applicant background check and employment background check program that uses criminal justice data to help employers assess if an applicant is qualified for a position or if the employee remains qualified after the employee was involved with a criminal justice event. The incumbent will apply advanced computer and analytical skills to research and resolve customer facing automated workflow problems. This includes tracking background requests and subsequent processing to ensure processing occurs in a timely and accurate manner. When problems are identified, the incumbent is responsible for researching and resolving problems. Data analysis will often be required to identify and resolve problems. The incumbent will prepare briefings, reports, and evaluations on system efficiency, and perform other duties as assigned.

The person selected for this position will work full-time onsite at Virginia State Police Headquarters, 7700 Midlothian Tpke, North Chesterfield, VA 23235.Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, excluding state holidays.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced computer skills are required that aligns with the Job Description. Ability to multitask and to determine root cause of problems and implement solutions, and resolve issues by gathering and analyzing data, reasoning logically, and drawing valid conclusions. In addition, customer relations skills; good verbal and written communication skills; and proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
