Job Description

As a Android Mobile Applications Engineer you will apply your expertise in solving business problems through innovation, large scale engineering practices, and help lead our teams of technologists, in creating next-level, large scale solution for JPMorgan Chase's many Lines of Businesses. With your deep knowledge in various technology domains, design, development, coding, testing, and application programming. You will be counted on to set strategic direction, solve complex mission critical problems, and help your team raise their game, meet high standards, and satisfying both business, and functional requirements.Best of all. You will be able to harness massive amounts of brainpower through JPMorgan Chase's Global Network of over 30,000 technologists from around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete development assignments on time with an appropriate level of quality to support project efforts.
  • Participate in a digital technology project from concept to implementation, and through all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Create work estimates based on technology concepts and requirements documentation.
  • Support project releases.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years experience designing and implementing applications
  • 4+ years of combined software/application development experience in Java, kotlin and android
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university or four years equivalent development experience.
  • Customer-focused mindset, taking pride in creating an informative data-driven journey
  • Ability to understand requirements and translate them to efficient code.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of java, kotlin and android ecosystem
  • Past experience in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, LiveData, all mobile UI fundamentals, from layout to animations, and Restful API integration is expected
  • Experience in Unit testing and functional testing libraries like Mockito, Espresso
  • Experience with distributed systems, caching, and persistence solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues under time pressure
  • Experience building localized, multi-tenant solutions
  • Enthusiasm for automated testing
  • A Strong experience with Data Structures and Multi-Threading.
  • Understanding of architectural patterns such as MVI, MVP and MVVM, application design patterns - Gang of Four patterns
  • Understanding of build systems such as Gradle, Jenkins

Good Skills to have:
  • Working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket version control
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other technical resources and the company as a whole
  • Proficiency with Linux, Mac OS X, GNU tools, and scripting languages is a bonus
  • Prior experience working on agile teams is a plus.
  • Pair programming ability is a bonus
  • Created an application that is available on google play store (bonus but not a must)
