Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer to lead a tenant-to-tenant migration project. This role will focus on migrating approximately 44 users from the source M365 tenant to the client's M365 environment, ensuring coexistence, security, and minimal disruption. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Exchange Online, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, and cross-tenant integrations, with the ability to document workflows and collaborate with IT teams.
Pay rate: $70-$80/hourly (W2 only)
Duration: Short-term contract
Hours will fluctuate from 40 hours to 10 hours weekly
Location: Remote - anywhere in the US working PST working hours.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the tenant-to-tenant full migration
- Ensure proper coexistence during transition and verify that all primary work is fully operational in the new environment.
- Configure and manage Active Directory, domain integrations, and SSO policies.
- Implement MFA and security/access requirements within the target tenant.
- Perform user data backups (Exchange mailboxes, OneDrive, Teams, files).
- Restore data in the target tenant with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Ensure system backups, restores, and data containerization to support business continuity.
- Support cross-tenant connectivity and troubleshooting.
- Create clear process documentation, workflow diagrams, and one-page end-user/IT guides.
- Support change management by providing easy-to-understand materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, SSO, MFA, and domain/tenant integrations.
- Hands-on expertise with Exchange administration and mailbox migration in coexistence environments.
- Ability to perform backups, restores, and data containerization.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience creating IT systems documentation and workflow guides.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with mid-sized migrations (25-100 users).
- Familiarity with change management best practices.
- Previous consulting or client-facing IT project experience.
