Description

We are looking for a dedicated Systems Administrator II to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our IT systems and infrastructure. This position requires a technical expert who can work independently on moderately complex projects while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration
  • Administer Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8 environments, including upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and compliance with security baselines.
  • Automate system tasks using native scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Deploy and manage cloud-native services using DevOps pipelines.
  • Manage SSL certificate lifecycles and domain infrastructure.
  • Oversee data backup strategies and disaster recovery testing.

Identity & Access Management
  • Manage user and system identity lifecycles, including onboarding/offboarding, role-based access control, and privilege escalation.
  • Implement and maintain Group Policy and identity configurations in Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.

Network Infrastructure
  • Design and maintain highly available network architectures in hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Configure and manage IP-based access rules, routing, DNS, and CIDR-based filtering.

Collaboration & Documentation
  • Work closely with DevSecOps teams to implement cloud-native solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including system diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and incident response processes.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies.


Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux server administration.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues and manage DNS, firewall rules, and routing.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently using M365 tools.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or CISSP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in implementing and enforcing governance and compliance controls.
  • Experience with VPNs, NSGs, and cloud-native resource provisioning automation.
