Job Title: ServiceNow Architect ITOM Implementation (Public Sector)

Location: Riverside County, CA Remote (Occasional Onsite Travel Required as per project need)
Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Architect with hands-on expertise in IT Operations Management (ITOM) implementation and a proven track record of working in the public sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading architectural design and implementation efforts for ServiceNow solutions, with a strong focus on ITOM modules including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, and Cloud Management. This is a remote role with occasional onsite visits based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for ServiceNow architecture and ITOM module implementations.
  • Design and architect ServiceNow solutions aligned with client business needs, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Lead the implementation of ITOM components: Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management, and CMDB health.
  • Engage with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Provide governance and guidance on platform architecture, data modeling, integrations, performance tuning, and security.
  • Ensure ServiceNow platform is aligned with public sector compliance and security standards.
  • Participate in roadmap development, solution design workshops, and strategic planning with clients.
  • Collaborate with developers and administrators to ensure successful platform delivery.
  • Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Provide documentation, design artifacts, and solution playbooks for implemented features.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow architecture.
  • Strong experience in ServiceNow ITOM modules: Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, Cloud Management.
  • Proven experience in public sector implementations (federal, state, or local government).
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations with third-party systems using APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.
  • Deep understanding of CMDB design, CI class modeling, and data accuracy best practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead architecture discussions and drive design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITOM
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Experience working in FedRAMP, NIST, or FISMA-compliant environments.
  • Public Trust or other relevant government clearance (preferred or must be eligible).

Work Environment:

  • Primarily remote, with occasional onsite travel for stakeholder meetings, workshops, or critical deployment phases.
