Job Details

Job Title: Database Environment Setup Engineer

Contract: 3-6 Months

Location: Remote | Experience: 10 years

Role Summary:

Responsible for setting up and deploying test environments for multiple databases - Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Couchbase - across physical servers, Red Hat OpenStack, and Red Hat OpenShift platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and validate RDBMS and NoSQL databases on various platforms.
  • Automate deployments using Ansible, Terraform, or cloud-init.
  • Manage storage, networking, and access controls across environments.
  • Deploy containerized DBs on OpenShift using Operators or StatefulSets.
  • Integrate basic monitoring and backup mechanisms.
  • Document setup procedures and troubleshoot environment issues.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Red Hat OpenStack/OpenShift.
  • Expertise in database setup and configuration (RDBMS + NoSQL).
  • Proficiency with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (Bash/Python).
  • Understanding of Kubernetes concepts and persistent storage.
