Job Title: Camunda Developer
Location Options: Fort Mill, SC / New York, NY (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H)
About the Role
We are seeking a Camunda Developer with strong experience in workflow automation, BPMN, and enterprise integrations. The ideal candidate will be able to work across both modern and legacy environments, contribute to cloud migration initiatives, and build scalable, resilient process orchestration solutions.
This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Camunda BPM workflows (BPMN, DMN, CMMN).
Integrate Camunda with Java/.NET microservices, REST APIs, and messaging systems (Kafka, JMS, etc.).
Implement event-driven workflows using Confluent Kafka and stream processing.
Contribute to on-prem to AWS migration for workflow and orchestration platforms.
Work with legacy workflows, analyze current implementations, and define modernization strategies.
Automate infrastructure and deployment using Terraform.
Ensure monitoring, observability, and performance optimization of workflows.
Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to drive workflow automation initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in enterprise application development.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Camunda BPM (BPMN modeling, DMN, orchestration).
Strong experience integrating Camunda with Java/.NET microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka.
Proficiency with AWS Cloud Services - EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
Strong knowledge of scalability and resiliency patterns in distributed systems.
Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
Nice to Have
Experience with Camunda 8, Zeebe, or other cloud-native BPM platforms.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Prior experience with workflow engine modernization or migration projects.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.
Adaptability - ability to work across hybrid tech stacks.
