Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Waterfall and Agile) and a technical background to support IT project initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving the successful delivery of product features, enhancements, and solutions. While the role is more focused on Business Systems Analysis than traditional Business Analysis, experience with Agile methodologies and tools is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform end-to-end business systems analysis: identify business needs, analyze current processes, elicit and document requirements, and support implementation.
  • Serve as the bridge between business/product owners and technical development teams.
  • Define and manage project scope, conduct risk assessments, and support issue resolution.
  • Drive and facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement.
  • Track key metrics such as user adoption and engagement to suggest and implement continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitate business validation discussions.
  • Lead requirement prioritization in collaboration with the product team.
  • Support Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives) and help guide stakeholders in adopting Agile principles.

Agile-Focused Responsibilities:
  • Break down business initiatives into epics, features, and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to shape product strategy and maintain a refined product backlog.
  • Assist in defining the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for each feature.
  • Convert business requirements into process flows and functional specifications.
  • Serve as a proxy Product Owner when needed to drive delivery.
  • Help the team understand the broader business context and align technical deliverables with business goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Skilled in requirement gathering, process mapping, documentation, and backlog management.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive consensus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical background (e.g., experience working with software development teams or knowledge of programming, databases, APIs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally).
  • Scrum certification or similar Agile credentials (CSM, PMI-ACP, etc.) is a plus.
