Summary:
The Surgery Aide is responsible for cleaning designated areas and equipment within the Operating Room Department.
Responsibilities:
1. Cleans designated areas and equipment within the Operating Room Department.
2. Assists with inventory and transport of patients and beds within Surgical Services.
3. Assists nursing staff with restocking supplies in OR suites; assists nursing staff with returning equipment upon completion of procedure.
4. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
5. Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Experience in a medical patient care environment is preferred.
2. Experience in central processing and housekeeping is preferred.
3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
4. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
5. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Certification: Heart Saver and AED is required within 90 days of hire.
3. Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
