RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Round Rock, TX that is seeking an Automation Engineer. This resource will be expected to lead automation efforts to ensure that the data center technical environment is properly monitored and that any problems are reported to the appropriate people. We are looking for candidates local to Austin, TX only.
Responsibilities:
* Lead automation efforts to automate tasks; reporting, tools, and any other area that can benefit from automated processes
* This person will need to demonstrate general understanding of client/server and SAN/storage array support data center environments so as to understand how automation can help
* Understand the development of test configuration plans for the lab computing environment infrastructure and knowledge of deployment of fiber-channel storage arrays, hosts, switches, software, and storage networking infrastructure
* Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures; Help identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, makes automation recommendations and assists to implement efficiencies
* Mentor and project-supervise less experienced Lab System Engineers in creating and executing automated tasks; Identify system or storage performance issues and participate in the development of tools to improve system management
* Provide technical expertise in the development of collaborative platform client application/customer interfaces
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years of experience with enterprise class software development and/or creating automated processes
* Experience with DevOps and software development
* Knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more scripting languages, Python, and RESTful environments
* Ability to write reusable code and scripts for task automation, and interfacing into data center tools
* Skills in debugging, triaging, performance tuning and troubleshooting of large software systems
Experience with:
* REST API

Nice to have:
* Familiarity with ServiceNow, RFCode, and Atlassian products

* Knowledge of iDRAC
* Kubernetes experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
