Sr. Mechanical Engineer
El Segundo Area, CA
Direct Hire
$110k- $145k year

Immediate hire. Successful candidate will focus on the mechanical design, development, and manufacture of antennas, stationary and mobile antenna systems, and related equipment. Work as part of an integrated product team as a lead Mechanical Engineer under the direction of a Program Manager. May be required to support other lead Mechanical Engineers on other programs. May support multiple programs/products simultaneously. Provide effective and efficient design support as the lead mechanical engineer during the conceptual, detailed design, integration, and test phases of a product development program, with the goal of achieving on-time completion of assigned tasks. Prepare and present design and analysis summary material during internal and external design reviews. Lead and/or support component and antenna system level electrical and environmental testing.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering and product design
  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of material behavior, statics, dynamics, vibration, heat transfer, finite element analysis, product design, and testing
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques such as machining, sheet metal, and forming, along with some experience with injection molded plastics and cast metal part design
  • Experience with gimbaled, rotating systems and sensors
  • Basic knowledge of control systems
  • Basic knowledge of RF/microwave, electromagnetic, and antenna principles preferred
  • Well versed in the areas of fasteners, adhesives, coatings, sealing, and industry specifications
  • Finite element analysis using Creo Simulate preferred
  • Solid model design and detailed drawings using Creo
  • ship or lawful permanent residence in the U.S. required in support of US Government contracts/subcontracts
