This position is expected to start around August or September 2025 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2025) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. entry level candidates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Team
Low Voltage Power Systems Integration Engineers within the Vehicle Software organization work side by side with various cross-functional teams to lead the design and development of low voltage power distribution, network management and low voltage battery management systems. This role utilizes hardware, software, and system design fundamentals to support new product design, define vehicle behaviors, bring-up prototypes, and validation. Low Voltage Power integration engineers are leading new technology development for the next generations of Tesla vehicles and are responsible for overall functionality and performance of low voltage power distribution systems throughout product life cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Architecting vehicle low voltage power systems including power distribution, power management, and network management
  • Distill vehicle product requirements into actionable software and hardware requirements, and define system hardware and software interfaces
  • Lead system behavior design of low voltage power distribution products and features
  • Bring-up and debug early software and hardware prototypes through characterizing the systems and ensuring systems perform to requirements and support validation teams in developing component and system level testing strategies to meet product requirements
  • Understand and debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment of products or features
  • Perform field data analytics to improve behaviors and performance of the system
  • Analyze changes to assess impact to systems by summarizing impacted devices, interfaces and process in the hardware and software domain

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date between December 2025-December 2026
  • Experience in C/C++
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Comfortable with Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts
