Senior Business Analyst

DataStaff is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in the Petersburg, VA area.

*This position is hybrid; 3 days onsite required with an optional 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:

• Identify business needs, analyze data, and develop solution requirements to improve efficiency and productivity within the institution in close alignment with business strategies and goals.
• Requirements Documentation: Create detailed documentation of business requirements, processes, and solutions, including business process models and reports.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current business processes and identify areas for improvement, proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Testing and Validation: Participate in testing new systems and processes to ensure they meet business requirements and function as intended.
• Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and insights that inform business decisions.
• Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of IT Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).

Knowledge, Experience and Education:

• Experience with business process modeling and general office productivity tools is required.
• 10+ years of experience working in technology domains.
• Education: A bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but not required. (Higher education preferred.)
• A relevant Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP) is a plus.

Required Skills:

• 10 Years - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights
• 10 Years - Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements and/or user stories in Waterfall and Agile project environments
• 7 Years - Experience developing business process models
• 5 Years - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders

Desired Skills:

• 5 Years - Proven ability to work independently with some guidance on assigned work product
• 5 Years - Extensive experience creating test plans and test cases
• 5 Years - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations
