Overview:
Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks an accomplished Senior Network Engineer.

- Work Hours: Mon Fri, 8:00am 5:00pm (no on-call requirements).
Description:
- Ensure Incidents, Service Requests, and Service Catalog Tasks are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner for high or urgent priority to meet the IT Network Operations OLA.
- Make certain tickets are opened, updated, and closed for all assigned incidents, or service requests. Periodically check for unassigned tickets to ensure issues are being addressed and resolved in a timely fashion.
- Assess production network configurations and network health, identify issues, and recommend remediation actions to your manager.
- Perform on-site hardware/software installations and keep the IT Network manager informed on issues, status, and completion of installations.
- Communicate in a timely fashion risk to meeting deadlines and SLA/OLA s regarding Project Deliverables, Project Tasks, Incidents, Service Requests, Work Orders and other assigned tasks; ensuring customers, staff, managers, and directors are informed.
- Participate in network hardware refresh, new network segment builds, and WAN clinic builds.
- Responsible for providing maintenance and troubleshooting support for the Aruba edge switch environment.
- Perform network monitoring configuration, addition, deletions, and changes for enterprise monitoring platforms (Whatsup Gold, NetMRI, LogicMonitor, NetScout nGenius).
- Participate in automating network tasks utilizing network tools and scripting languages.
- Perform network data center top of rack switch upgrades, ACI configuration, patch matrices, operational data center maintenance, and OSPF / BGP configuration.
- Make certain that the network inventory and assets are documented, updated, and accurately reflected in CMDB.
- Ensure completion and implementation of IT Network Operations A3 s and A4 s as required.
- Maintain and upgrade ISS technical environments, including network, WAN, access layers, IPAM, DHCP, RADIUS, and network monitoring tools.
- Perform monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting to optimize systems and networked components as necessary to resolve problems and improve quality and performance.
- Identify and prioritize tasks within IT Network and operational environment based on ISS strategic plans and priorities.
- Adhere to the ISS Change Management and Change Control processes.
- Ensure root cause analysis is performed and adhere to Problem Management process.
- Responsible for network design, build, and implementation in the PM Lifecycle.
- Assist and execute disaster recovery procedures as needed.
- Conduct hardware and software evaluations providing detailed analysis and make recommendations based on the outcome of your analysis.
- Research and recommend tools, scripts, and utilities to improve technical processes.
- Escalate issues to the IT Network manager and/or lead as defined by the IT Network OLA/SLA and as the situation requires.
- Document all aspects of IT Network operations, including implementation procedures, operational documentation, support policies and procedures, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop, document, update, and maintain IT Network policies, standards, standard operating procedures (SOP s) and how-to s. Utilize IT Network procedures and practices to ensure best practices.
- Attend technical classes to enhance IT Network skill sets.
- Provide monthly operational accomplishments to IT Network Manager.
- Report work-order and incident ticket status.
- Communicate technical concerns or suggestions to IT Network Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, information systems, electronics engineering or a related field, and five years of experience; or Master s degree and 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
