About the Role

Oraganization is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in Avolution Abacus and enterprise architecture modeling frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate). This part-time role (25 hours/week) plays a strategic part in shaping the future of transportation by supporting architecture design, governance, and visualization across business, application, data, and technology domains.

You will leverage Abacus to build architecture models, run simulations, generate visual insights, and drive informed decision-making. This hybrid role requires on-site presence in New York City 2 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage EA models across business, application, data, and technology layers using Avolution Abacus

  • Capture and visualize current- and future-state architectures

  • Customize Abacus meta-models and governance frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate)

  • Automate architecture workflows using JavaScript and Abacus APIs

  • Integrate Abacus with external tools (e.g., Power BI, ServiceNow, SharePoint)

  • Build dashboards, heat maps, capability maps, and roadmaps for executive insights

  • Support EA governance boards and facilitate stakeholder workshops

  • Conduct scenario modeling, risk analysis, and capability planning

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Avolution Abacus, including modeling, dashboarding, meta-model design

  • Proficiency in TOGAF, ArchiMate, and BPMN

  • Knowledge across business, application, infrastructure, and security domains

  • Strong scripting (JavaScript) and data integration capabilities

  • Experience with architecture governance, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), and KPIs

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with CMDBs, Visio/UML/BPMN tools

  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, and report automation

  • Monte Carlo simulations and cost/risk modeling
