We're seeking a future team member for the role of Full Stack Developer to join our People Engineering team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA

Role Summary:

As a Database Developer on BNY's People Engineering team, you will help design, build and maintain scalable data solutions that power analytics and reporting across the People Team. You'll work closely with senior developers, data analysts and business stakeholders to implement end-to-end ETL pipelines, optimize relational database structures, and ensure high data quality and performance. Some additional development in high-level languages (ex: Java, C#, etc) may be required for custom application development. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative, Agile environment and contribute to critical data initiatives that enable BNY to deliver exceptional service to the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, document and test ETL workflows using tools such as Pentaho, Informatica, or equivalent
Write, tune and maintain SQL (PL/SQL) for data extraction, transformation and loading
Assist in logical and physical database design, indexing strategies and performance optimization
  • Develop custom web or console-based application software solutions
  • Develop and consume Web Services and RESTful APIs
  • Deploy solutions via CI/CD pipelines as required
  • Troubleshoot data issues, ensure referential integrity and implement automated data-validation checks
  • Collaborate with data architects, BI/reporting teams and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Contribute to data-governance standards, coding best practices and knowledge-sharing within the team

Expertise:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field
2-4 years' hands-on experience with relational database development (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
Exposure to ETL frameworks or tools (Informatica, Pentaho, etc.)
Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and stored-procedure development
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and source-control systems (Git, TFS)
Excellent problem-solving aptitude, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset

Individual skills :
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), programming, test plan and test data review, and application of security and privacy principles.
  • Proficiency in JIRA or other agile tools.
  • Problem solving and confidence in navigating through impediments
  • Secure coding principles
  • Strong teamwork skills
