Senior Azure SRE

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to drive the design, automation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure supporting the firm's core technologies and applications. Acting as a key technical expert, you'll ensure our platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with strategic IT initiatives.

Responsibilities:
* Design and automate infrastructure management to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across hybrid and cloud environments
* Implement observability frameworks and self-healing solutions to meet defined service-level targets
* Deliver advanced consulting services and technical expertise to project teams and operational support functions
* Create, review, and maintain technical documentation including architecture designs, implementation plans, impact assessments, and procurement specifications
* Participate in infrastructure planning and execution, offering strategic input during project development phases
* Serve as a lead engineer on large-scale initiatives, providing technical direction and mentoring junior staff where needed
* Partner closely with Solutions Architects to ensure infrastructure designs align with broader enterprise architecture standards and strategies
* Support governance and technology roadmap planning in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture leadership
* Advocate for process improvements across the software development lifecycle and IT operations
* Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical incidents, resolving high-priority infrastructure issues
* Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging cloud and infrastructure technologies to enhance platform capabilities
* May also fulfill duties commonly associated with mid- and junior-level Site Reliability Engineering roles as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field-or equivalent experience
* 5-9 years of hands-on infrastructure engineering experience across hybrid or cloud environments
* Strong expertise with tools and platforms such as Azure, AWS, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, Git, VMware, Kubernetes, Windows, Linux, and SQL
* Solid understanding of SDLC frameworks and operational best practices
* Prior experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers is preferred
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with sharp attention to detail
* Eagerness and ability to master new technologies quickly
* Deep knowledge of cloud, automation, and infrastructure management principles
* Effective communicator capable of translating technical concepts into business terms
* Adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
* Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
* Committed to maintaining professionalism

Preferred Certifications:
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
* HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
* Red Hat Certified Specialist (or equivalent Linux certification)
* ITIL, MOF, or similar best practice frameworks a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
