ECS is seeking a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office / remote .
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to serve as an individual contributor within our Enterprise Services team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, prioritizing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across a diverse technology stack. This includes on-premises systems, cloud environments, network devices, and other related technologies. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including security analysts, IT operations, development teams, and third-party vendors, to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of security best practices, risk assessment methodologies, and patch management processes and be proficient in using vulnerability management tools. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our organization's systems and data against evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in an On-Call rotation and/or after-hours maintenance activities.
- Design, document, build, secure, and maintain the storage, compute, network, and supporting infrastructure.
- Design, document, build, secure, and maintain cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Manage and maintain the supporting services such as Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare Virtualization, and Veeam backups.
- Apply security patches, configuration changes, and other hardening measures to endpoints, network devices, and applications following industry standards and best practices.
- Document all remediation activities clearly and comprehensively following change management guidelines.
- Tier 3 escalation path for complex issues, with a commitment to thoroughly understand the root cause of an incident. Engage with other teams, vendors, and contributors as necessary.
- Discover opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Manage and coordinate the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate vendors.

Required Skills
- Firm understanding of Vulnerability Assessment/Management and Patch Management.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of solutions, including on-premise systems, cloud environments, network devices, hypervisors, and firewalls.
- Experience with Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) and the Principle of Least Privilege.
- Proactiveness and continuous learning: A genuine interest in technology, a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security issues, and a commitment to constant learning.
- Experience with Windows Server, Windows Desktop, and Linux operating systems.
- An excellence-driven approach to all aspects of information systems management.
Desired Skills
- Experience with automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and others.
- Experience with endpoint management technologies.
- Experience with DISA STIGS, CMMC, CIS Level 1 and 2.
- Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, AZ-104, MD-102 or LPI.
- Familiarity with configuration management, file integrity monitoring (FIM), and configuration drift detection.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (management, development, teams, system owners). This includes drafting reports, giving presentations, and documenting procedures.
