Job Details

Position: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Contract: W2 Only

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (on-premises and cloud environments).

  • Perform database upgrades, patches, backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.

  • Manage database security, access control, and user provisioning.

  • Implement and maintain high availability (HA), replication, and clustering solutions (RAC, Data Guard).

  • Automate routine tasks using scripts (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell, Python).

  • Collaborate with developers to optimize queries, stored procedures, and schema designs.

  • Perform capacity planning, space management, and database growth forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical production issues.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.

  • Strong expertise in Oracle 11g/12c/19c installation, configuration, and administration.

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.

  • Strong knowledge of database backup/recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump).

  • Experience with monitoring tools (OEM, Cloud Control, Nagios, or similar).

  • Proficient in Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices for database deployments.

  • Knowledge of database security best practices, auditing, and encryption.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure Database).

Nice-to-Have

  • Exposure to MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server administration.

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized database environments.

  • Experience with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform).

  • Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate for replication.

  • Exposure to data warehousing, ETL tools, and BI platforms.

  • Basic knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation.
