Job Details

This role is vital to ensuring the performance, availability, and reliability of DB2 systems across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain IBM DB2 for z/OS subsystems and related tools
  • Apply patches, service packs, and recommended maintenance
  • Work closely with infrastructure and DBA teams to support DB2 environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level DB2 issues
  • Configure DB2 parameters and subsystems for optimal performance
  • Manage DB2 catalog/directory health, buffer pools, logs, and datasets
  • Perform workload analysis and capacity planning
  • Develop and maintain system-level documentation
  • Ensure proper security, audit logging, and compliance measures are in place
Required Experience
  • 5 8 years of experience as a DB2 for z/OS System Programmer
  • Expertise in DB2 system installation and customization (SMP/E, JCL)
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, SDSF, ISPF, and SMPE
  • Familiarity with automation tools, monitoring tools, and job schedulers (e.g., CA-7, Control-M)
  • Strong skills in debugging and performance tuning DB2 internals
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing
