At Tyler Technologies, we are dedicated to empowering those who serve and protect our communities. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team enabling data sharing across Public Safety and Justice platforms.
In this role, you'll be building data integration platforms and cloud native applications that connect critical workflows across agencies and provide access to their distributed data.
You'll join a highly collaborative team of experienced engineers working on sustaining legacy applications while modernizing them and building out new capabilities in a cloud-first ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers to design and deliver robust software solutions that meet user needs and system requirements.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient services and applications using modern cloud patterns (e.g., event-driven architecture, serverless computing, microservices).
- Write high-quality, well-tested code using best practices in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Participate in application design reviews, code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support operational excellence by contributing to observability, logging, and monitoring best practices.
- Engage in full software lifecycle processes, including planning, development, deployment, and maintenance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience developing and deploying AWS cloud-native applications.
- Deep understanding of serverless technologies and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with the following AWS services:
- IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CDK or SAM
- Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
- Athena, Glue, Cognito
- Source control fluency with GitHub and use of GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Must successfully pass a CJIS-compliant fingerprint background check.
Nice to Haves
- Proficiency in modern frontend development using Angular and TypeScript.
- Experience with .NET (C#) is highly desirable to support legacy services and their future migrations.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Playwright.
- Experience with containerized development (e.g., Docker, Dev Containers) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
