Job Details

Job Title: Cloud Financial Operations Analyst
Location: Washington, DC / Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Months

Required Skills:
Financial Operations and Governance across multiple cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform. This role will be responsible for activities such as cost show-back and chargeback, cloud cost optimization, rightsizing, savings opportunities etc. Other responsibilities include supporting and Implementing governance strategies and processes, such as infrastructure requests, tagging, etc.
Develop and implement FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including but not limited to monitoring and analyzing cloud usage patterns to identify areas for optimization
Assist in the design, improvement and enforcement of cloud governance policies and best practices
Assist in the management of cloud financial reporting, including cost allocation, show-back, and chargeback systems and forecasting models
Collaborate with various teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, asset management strategies and improve cloud resource utilization
Provide expert guidance on cloud cost optimization and governance to stakeholders at all levels
Stay current with the latest cloud technologies, FinOps practices, and industry best practices
Organize and document technical requirements and create technical design specifications sizing technical requirements related to incoming infrastructure requests
FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred but not required
Experience with cloud management and FinOps tools (preferably Apptio and CloudAbility)
Must have a strong understanding of AWS & Azure Cloud resources
Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and cost management strategies
Successful experience with managing multiple projects supporting multiple internal customers concurrently
Proven track record of implementing successful FinOps and governance initiatives.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of cloud financial management principles and FinOps practices, such as FinOps Framework.
Proficiency in analyzing complex cloud billing data and creating actionable insights
Experience in a large enterprise or multi-cloud environment
