Job Title: Industrial Control System (ICS) Application Engineer

Location: La Barge WY Oil Refinery - On-site (5 days/week)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient ICS Application Engineer to join our team at the LaBarge facilities. This role is critical to supporting obsolescence upgrades across our industrial control systems, ensuring continued reliability, safety, and performance of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute obsolescence upgrade projects for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associated infrastructure.
  • Navigate and troubleshoot industrial control systems and control safety applications with minimal supervision.
  • Interface with ABB control systems and related networking infrastructure to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to plan and implement system upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with ExxonMobil's safety and operational standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers or contractors as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with DCS systems, preferably in a refinery or large-scale industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking, especially with ABB equipment and protocols.
  • Proven ability to work independently and "hit the ground running" with minimal onboarding or training.
  • Experience with control safety systems and their integration into broader ICS architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
