OnBase Platform Configuration
- Advanced knowledge of Workflow configuration and administration, including:
Queue creation and logic-based routing
Workflow triggers and custom actions
Timer configuration within Unity Management Console - Proven experience with:
Administering and troubleshooting timer-based logic using the Unity Management Console
Managing Windows Services associated with timer execution (e.g., OnBase Scheduler Service, Unity Scheduler Service)
Diagnosing timer-related failures using OnBase Diagnostics Console and system logs
Document Imaging and Import Process Configuration
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting multiple document import methods:
Document Import Processor (DIP)
Document Retention Import Processor (DRIP)
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) - Skilled in managing automated and scheduled ingestion workflows (e.g., lockbox files, remittance uploads, invoice batch imports)
- Able to analyze indexing logic, validate file mappings, and resolve ingestion-related issues
- Experience supporting AP workflows and intake routines tied to vendor file processing
User and Access Management
- Configuration and management of user accounts and roles
- Security group and permission structure design
- Activity audit and access monitoring for sensitive queues
Issue Triage and Error Resolution
- Resolution of processing failures, including:
Workflow halts
DIP or ingestion errors
Document mismatch or misindexing - Use of OnBase diagnostics tools, Event Viewer, and server logs
- Coordination with Epic and platform teams for cross-system issues
Project Support and Communication
Support Ticket Management
- Triage and respond to tickets across departments
- Prioritize based on impact and complexity
- Log detailed actions and resolutions in platforms like ServiceNow or Cherwell
Project Integration
- Support with folder and queue configurations, routing setups, and testing
- Validate deliverables through TST/UAT
- Attend project meetings and track technical action items
Healthcare-Specific Proficiencies (Preferred but Not Required)
HL7 Integration and Message Processing
- Configuration of HL7 import processes mapped to Document Types and AutoFill Keyword Sets
- Setup and management of HL7 message templates and field/segment mappings
- Knowledge of HL7 structures including PID, PV1, and message types like ADT^A01 and ORM^O01, MDM etc
HIM Workflow Proficiency
- Configuration of content conditioning workflows for document classification and routing
- Design of document correction workflows for re-indexing and HIM validation with permissions control
- Chart and MPI-based document management to ensure accurate patient-document association
Integration with Epic Systems
- Experience configuring DIP queues and indexing logic for Epic Chart Search
- Familiarity with OnBase Application Enabler within Epic Hyperspace
- Support for HL7 record consistency between OnBase and Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 5 years of hands-on OnBase configuration and support
- Proficiency in both Unity and thick client administration
- Experience in healthcare or hospital-based document workflows
- Familiarity with financial systems or RevCycle integrations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
