Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Delta Township Assembly on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Controls Engineer will work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Work will be performed in a manufacturing environment where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgement. This position will require the selected candidate to rotate between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift on a quarterly basis. This position will also require over-time on weekends and holidays.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
  • SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies.
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts.
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources.
  • Development and testing of advanced process technology.
  • Manage Upload, Download and Compare System (UD&C/MASS).
  • Manage the Industrial Ethernet Controls Network (IECN).
  • Maintain the controls wiring diagram library.
  • Maintain Macrium backups of ME devices.
  • Maintain Cylance policy levels of ME devices.
  • Maintain WonderWare system.
  • Perform controls project work.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of plant floor controls issues.
  • Maintain and update maintenance workstation software builds.
  • Maintain and update controls laptop software builds.
  • Manage access to SEP and assist with plant floor error proofing issues.
  • Work with resident cyber security engineering team on cyber security projects.
  • Interface with various IT groups on plant floor network issues as well as upper-level IT systems.
  • Add new software to engineering layouts drive.
  • Manage plant equipment password lockbox - PRIME.
  • Add procedures and manuals for new equipment to engineering layouts drive.
  • Maintain licenses for Rockwell and other controls software.
  • Ensure ME meets cyber security requirements and standards in ME Cornerstone.


Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • 2 years of Controls Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field or equivalent experience (4 years of Controls Engineering experience).
  • Ability to rotate shift typically on quarterly basis (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
  • Ability to work over-time (weekends/holidays).

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, control, or computer engineering.
