Volt is immediately hiring for a Full Time Full Stack AI/ML Data Engineer

The ideal candidate will be a full-stack data professional, capable of managing data infrastructure and developing end-to-end machine learning models. This role involves building scalable data pipelines, building AI/ML solutions for data analysis, and deploying intelligent systems that drive business value. The successful candidate will collaborate with existing IT and business stakeholders to turn data into strategic insights and production-ready AI solutions.

This role requires the individual to work onsite at the client s office in Orange, CA- Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Data infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming systems, to support AI/ML workloads.
• Data pipelining: Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and prepare large datasets both structured and unstructured for model training and deployment.
• AI/ML model development: Build, train, and test machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI models to solve specific business problems.
• Model deployment (MLOps): Familiarity with MLOPs practices and tools for deploying, monitoring, and managing ML models.
• Data quality and governance: Establish and enforce data quality and validation frameworks to ensure data integrity and model reliability. Implement ethical and security best practices to mitigate bias and ensure compliance.
• RAG implementation: Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows for large language model (LLM) applications, including managing vector databases and retrieval mechanisms.
• Collaboration and communication: Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Performance optimization: Continuously monitor and improve the performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of data and AI pipelines.

Technical skills

• Programming: High proficiency in Python is essential, along with experience in SQL. Experience with Python frameworks for data analysis like NumPy, Pandas, PySpark, Matplotlib would be a plus.
• AI/ML frameworks: Solid experience with ML frameworks. Familiarity with LLM orchestration tools is a plus.
• Cloud platforms: Expertise with Azure and its data and AI services.
• Big data & Cloud: Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and data streaming tools like Apache Kafka or Kinesis. Understanding of Azure as cloud platform and their data related services.
• Databases: Experience with Microsoft SQL server databases, as well as specialized data warehouses (E.g. BigQuery)
• MLOps and DevOps: Familiarity with MLOps practices for managing the full lifecycle of AI models, including tools like MLflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Microsoft Power BI: High proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query for data transformation, and Power BI service for cloud-based reporting. A strong understanding of data modeling techniques along with ability to create compelling and informative reports and dashboards.

Education and experience

• Education: A bachelor s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field is required, with a master's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience: Proven hands-on experience in both data engineering and AI/ML development, with a track record of deploying successful projects to production.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

This is a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity.

Pay Rate: $120,000 - $130,000 Per Annum
