RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a SIEM Subject Matter Expert in San Antonio, TX, Tysons Corner, VA, Dallas, TX, or Omaha, NE. This is a hybrid position (2 days in office and 3 days remote).
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced professional to design, implement, and optimize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. This role involves working closely with security operations teams to enhance detection capabilities, streamline workflows, and strengthen overall cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Architect, deploy, scale, and tune SIEM platforms
* Develop and optimize: Use cases and correlation rules; Dashboards and visualizations
* Onboard and parse logs from diverse sources (e.g., syslog, Windows event forwarding, cloud provider logs, firewall logs, identity logs, EDR outputs)
* Collaborate with Security Operations teams to support incident detection and response workflows
* Conduct threat hunting, alert triage, and malware analysis
* Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK framework and translate threat intelligence into actionable SIEM detections
* Design detection strategies aligned with business risks
* Mentor and coach security personnel on SIEM technologies
* Manage SIEM migrations and integrate with XDR/EDR systems
REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
