Overview
The Kannon Middle Office (KMO) team works in partnership with Trading, Global Strategic Analytics (GSA), Finance, Operations and Technology to facilitate the delivery of accurate and complete trader Risk and PL (RPL) on the Bank's strategic valuation platform for the FIC business. The team supports multiple Front Office desks, overseeing intraday trade monitoring and end-of-day orchestration. Members are responsible for investigating the root causes of issues and inefficiencies and for delivering immediate solutions where possible. Coverage spans Rates, Credit and Emerging Markets businesses, with product types including, but not limited to, Derivatives, OTC, Exchange-Traded, and Cash instruments.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our team, with a focus on intraday risk monitoring and end-of-day orchestration. You will work directly with trading and operations sitting on the trading floor to ensure trade bookings are complete and correct intraday, proactively monitor for discrepancies, orchestrate the end-of-day close, and assist in the substantiation of position risk tie-out.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $85,000 to $142,250. - Monitor intraday trade bookings to ensure completeness and accuracy in Front Office systems; support the end-of-day closing process, investigating booking issues as needed
- Liaise directly with Trading, GSA, and Infrastructure teams to escalate and remediate breaks
- Investigate root causes of operational issues and inefficiencies, proposing immediate solutions where possible
- Contribute to improving trade processing workflows, with a focus on control and automation
- Maintain a strong understanding of key product types: IR Swaps, Index and Single Name CDS, Bonds, Futures etc
- Assist with queries to substantiation PnL variances between Trader expectation to Risk calculator pricing
- Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. A relevant professional qualification (CFA, ACA) or Master's degree is preferred
- Proven experience in a Market Risk, Middle Office, Product Control, or Risk and PnL role within an investment bank or financial institution; Python for automation is an advantage
- Strong product knowledge across Fixed Income and Credit derivatives
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with Trading and Infrastructure stakeholders; logical thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment; proactive, team-oriented attitude with a strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with Front Office risk and booking systems
- Understanding of Front-to-Back trade flows and operational risk controls
- Prior exposure to risk based explains, or end-of-day risk processes
- A curious mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
