We are searching for the best talent for a NPI & LCM Senior Engineering Manager to support our Electrophysiology business. This role will work a Flex/Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite in our Irvine, CA office

Purpose:

The NPI & LCM Sr. Engineering Manager will direct and coordinate activities of one or more engineering programs within Supply Chain in support of new product development, transfers and Lifecycle Management for Therapeutic Catheters. These programs will include Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Process Transfers, Technology Development, Tooling (Design, Fabrication, Assembly, Procurement and Calibration). Manages and works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Directs and coordinates engineering activities through subordinate engineers and technicians to attain business goals consistent with cost, high quality, reliability and delivery requirements and Design for Manufacturability. Leads New Product Introduction and Lifecycle Engineering teams to improve existing processes for new and existing products. Determines direction and adequacy of processes/designs and test results and recommends changes. Directs, coordinates, and exercises project management principles, methods, tools and techniques for the effective planning, scheduling, organization, control, integration, and completion of project(s) of limited scope and duration by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Individual will have demonstrated creativity, foresight and mature technical judgment in anticipating and solving problems, determining technical program objectives/requirements, organizing/leading projects and developing standards & guides for technical activities.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Has full technical and administrative responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments into manufacturing.
  • Establishes operational goals and objectives to meet corporate goals and strategies. Prepares project schedules and coordinates engineering activities to ensure output meets specifications as well as corporate goals and objectives.
  • Plans and develops projects (engineering, process development, maintenance systems, operations transfers, facilities) concerned with unique and controversial problems which have an important effect on major programs. This involves exploration of subject areas, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches to improve product Quality and productivity.
  • Maintains liaison with individuals and project leaders within or outside his/her organization, with responsibility for acting independently on technical or business matters pertaining to his/her field.
  • Implements systems and procedures goals to ensure that machines and equipment meet operational performance and utilization requirements. Reviews equipment and machine requirements based on production needs. Determines and oversees implementation of capital requirements for process improvements.
  • Reviews and approves process specifications and design requirements. Reviews and approves changes to documentation.
  • Practices company safety and quality policies and procedures; actively requires conformance.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Practices company safety and quality policies and procedures. Actively requires conformance.
  • Responsible for the purchase or design of equipment that meets health, safety and environmental standards set by the company.
  • Responsible for performing design reviews and pre-validation assessments to ensure the safe and environmentally sound start-up of new processes.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS Engineering degree in relevant discipline is required
  • 10+ years of related engineering experience is required
  • MS degree preferred in a related engineering discipline
  • Has significant complex level engineering experience
  • Financial background experience in the field of Supply Chain would be beneficial
  • Experience in the medical device industry would be an asset
  • Must possess a clear mastery of theoretical and practical fundamentals and experimental engineering techniques
  • Strong English communication skills, written and oral is required
  • Ability to present presentations to upper management a plus
  • Knowledge of drafting software systems such as AutoCad and Solidworks is required.
  • Knowledge of statistical software packages such as Minitab a plus
  • Project Management skills a plus
  • Process Excellence tools such as Lean and Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Business/financial acumen
  • A demonstrated ability to work in team environment with focus on internal and external relationship development is required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to present complex information is required.
  • Able to prioritize requests and propose effective alternatives when necessary is required.
  • Knowledge in project management tools(Microsoft Office Suite) and processes and able to use these in broad range of business settings is required
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-25% depending on the phase of the program.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation -120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year
