Job Description

The Client has been providing Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) for Aerospace and Defense customers for decades. Their customers have long trusted them to provide complex mission-critical products, services, and support to their teams. We are growing and seeking a strong Quality Engineer, responsible for implementing all aspects of the Quality requirements of our customers. The candidate will be responsible for applying and maintaining AS 9100 / ISO Standards, ensuring our products are manufactured to meet the customer's quality standards, while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing, suppliers, and customer satisfaction.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience/Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of Quality Engineering experience with electronic components and assemblies in a high reliability electronics manufacturing industry
  • Experience with data-driven analytical methodologies for manufacturing, especially Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gage R&R, Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance (Pp, PpK) Analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience working with a variety of Quality tools (FMEA, 8D, CAPA, 5Why, etc.)
  • Experience with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g., Kaizen, DMAIC, Gemba, DOE, Root-Cause Analysis (RCA), etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with AS9100/ISO9000 quality systems including performing full/partial First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102
  • Technical knowledge of advanced PCBA manufacturing, quality assurance, quality control, and related assembly processes and requirements, including AS9100/9102; IPC-A-610; and J-STD-001
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Participates in manufacturing and production readiness reviews and the development of customer specific Quality Control Plans and requirements
  • Completes and assists the AS9102 First Article Inspections to contract and prints, ensuring conformance to specifications
  • Manages, analyzes, and publishes Quality Assurance Reports for assigned projects including process yields, defect/root cause analysis and associated corrective actions
  • Analyzes process, product, and component performances to identify continuous improvement opportunities and participates with program teams to drive high product quality, continuous improvement, and increased customer satisfaction
  • Interfaces with customers related to quality issues and assists in the failure analysis efforts for non-conformances and field returns, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive action
  • Generates procedures, process alerts, deviations, purges, and other process documentation including evaluation, approval, implementation, and verification of ECO's
  • Designs and implements methods and procedures for testing and inspecting the quality level of products and production equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
