Position Title: Database Administrator/SQL Data Analyst
# of Openings: 1
Interview Process: 1 round onsite. 1 hour long
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Function: Hybrid - 3 dayz onsite, 2 dayz remote
Contract Length: 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension and potential conversion
Start Date: December or early January; preferred start after Jan 6 but open to earlier if onboarding completes.
Pay Range - $40-45/hr

Mission
Ensure accurate, reliable, compliant, and well-maintained Distribution databases that support Protection & Control and SCADA automation assets. Provide technical oversight, vendor coordination, and operational support for database development, upgrades, and data quality across Distribution teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Maintain, develop, and update Distribution databases to ensure accuracy and alignment with internal standards.
- Move data between SQL and Oracle databases, including mapping, validating, and troubleshooting data issues.
- Diagnose and resolve bugs related to vendor-provided software; coordinate directly with vendor teams for corrective actions or enhancements.
- Understand Distribution operational needs and translate them into database and application requirements.
- Support rollout efforts led by other team member by building out the Distribution database environment and transitioning responsibilities.
- Train Distribution teams on the front-end application and how proper use impacts data quality and compliance.
- Participate in routine audit activities to ensure proper asset lifecycle documentation and NERC-related requirements.
- Assist in implementing processes, controls, and technology tools that ensure sustained compliance with standards.
- Provide technical support to Distribution Operations and/or Maximo related to asset information, maintenance data, and protection system issues.
- Manage and update the Distribution protection support website as needed.
- Participate in application development processes with vendors to ensure company interests are represented during new or revised standards.
- Research and test cyber security concerns tied to protection assets to strengthen cyber asset management.
- Follow approved technology principles, business standards, and project/program requirements.
Must Haves
- 2+ years working with SQL-based databases, including stored procedures, unions, joins, and tables.
- Proven understanding of database structure, architecture, and data flow.
- Experience working in both Oracle and SQL environments (current state in Oracle, moving toward SQL).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve data or software issues by collaborating with vendors.
- Strong communication skills for working with Distribution teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently when required and eventually run the Distribution-side database function.
- Experience training end users or supporting rollout activities.
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Technology or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with engineering or technical software applications.
Pluses
- Background in protective relaying design, protection & control, or SCADA-related environments.
- Experience with NERC standards compliance activities.
- Experience in utility or power industry operations.
- Familiarity with Maximo.
- Experience building databases from the ground up or supporting enterprise application rollouts.
