Y our Assignment at a Glance
The Systems Administrator supports the day-to-day operations of business-critical applications and server infrastructure at the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), a high-availability manufacturing environment with both day and night shifts. This role is responsible for administering Windows servers, troubleshooting application and operational issues, assisting with system monitoring/alerting and maintenance, and some light Linux server administration.
The Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams and vendors to ensure reliable performance of packaged software systems that are vital to plant operations.

While performing the duties of the job, the Contractor is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The Contractor is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The Contractor must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

This position is for a contract role with The Friedkin Group. As a contractor, you will play an essential role in supporting our business needs while bringing your expertise and skills to our team. Contractors are engaged for a defined period and assignment. Contractors are not employees of The Friedkin Group, and as such, they are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, or retirement plans.

- System Administration & Maintenance
- Manage and maintain Windows servers and some Linux systems.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and patch applications and systems.
- Monitor performance and alerts using tools like SolarWinds.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide Tier II support for IT and operations-related issues.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (e.g., IP, VLANs, DHCP).
- Support remote users and act as the VPC Remote Site Coordinator.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Work with internal infrastructure teams (network, storage, etc.) and vendors to resolve issues and implement changes.
- Align system changes and upgrades with plant operations and schedules.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain clear documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Customer Service & Communication
- Understand business needs and system usage to provide responsive support.
- Manage expectations and build (and maintain) strong relationships with internal customers and vendors.
- After-Hours Support & Projects
- Participate in on-call support and contribute to small-scale IT projects and process improvements.
- Contract is estimated to last for 3 months.
What We Need From You
- Proficiency in administering Microsoft Windows Server, including patching, configuration, and basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS)
- Working knowledge of Linux systems (basic navigation, permissions, services)
- Experience using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds for system health and alerting
