Job Title: AI/Computer Vision Engineer Animation, VFX & Digital Art Pipeline

Location: Remote

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI/Computer Vision Engineer with a strong background in animation, VFX, or digital art production pipelines. This role will focus on designing and scaling AI-powered image description, classification, and multimodal search systems (text-to-image, image-to-image). You will work at the intersection of computer vision, digital media, and scalable AI deployments, collaborating with creative and technical teams to push the boundaries of media search and recognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize AI/computer vision solutions for image recognition, tagging, and semantic search in animation, VFX, and digital art workflows.
  • Build and integrate multimodal search pipelines (text-to-image, image-to-image).
  • Work with creative pipeline tools (e.g., Maya, Katana) and ensure seamless integration with production workflows.
  • Deploy scalable AI systems, leveraging vector databases and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experiment with and fine-tune LLMs and ML frameworks for enhanced image-text understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI engineers, digital artists, pipeline developers) to ensure robust end-to-end solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI, computer vision, or related ML fields.
  • Proven expertise in digital media classification and asset management in VFX/animation pipelines.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
  • Experience deploying scalable AI systems with vector search/databases.
  • Familiarity with creative tools and production environments (Maya, Katana, Nuke, Houdini).
  • Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning and multimodal AI integration.

Nice to Have

  • Prior work with large-scale production pipelines in animation or gaming.
  • Experience with API integrations for computer vision models.
  • Background in GPU acceleration for training/inference.
