Job Details

Title: Component Engineer - Onsite

Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Support the conceptual design of structures, platforms and pipe supports using drafting and 3D design tools.
Develop structural design criteria for standard and project specific designs.
Perform structural analysis for gas turbine enclosures, pipe racks and pipe supports including common analysis of piping and structures.
Design welded and bolted connections.
Responsible for issuing structural drawings for project specific applications.
Review, control and own structural 3d models.
Write technical specifications as required.
Review vendor drawings as required.
Complete interface with various disciplines at all levels.
Provide engineering assistance to plant construction.
Resolve all field interference issues.
Travel as required.
Participate in vendor surveillance program and assist in supplier quality assurance.

Required Experience:

Civil or Structural Engineering Degree with focus on Structural Design.
5+ years of experience in designing industrial structures and performing structural analysis by using computer software.
5+ years of experience in connection design.
Familiarity with Codes and Standards applicable in the USA like IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 341, AISC 358, AISC 360, ACI 318 and AWS D1.1.
Experience with structural steel fabrication requirements, material selections and writing of fabrication specifications.
Experience with structural steel materials common in the Americas, Europe and Asia (AISC, ASTM, EN, GB, JIS).
Experience with using Microsoft Office package such as Word and Excel.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Eurocode.
Experience with analysis software Bentley STAAD or Risa 3D.
Experience with designing structures required to support piping and equipment for the Power and Process industry.
Familiarity with client Open Plant.
