DURATION: 30 Months

LOCATION: Albany, NY - Hybrid

The Software Architect position will oversee the design, development, testing, and implementation of various modules added to ECLRS, ESSS, and ECR and will be responsible for the oversight of daily activities associated with the project's programmers.

Qualifications

• Software Architect- Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
  
• Expert- 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
  
• 84 months experience in using WebLogic application server
  
• 84 months experience in designing complex web applications on various development platforms, including REST web services
  
• 84 months experience in the design, implementation and deployment of Java SE, JDBC, Java Servlets and JavaScript with relational database model applications
  
• 84 months experience working with java-based service-oriented architecture
  
• 84 months experience in SQL object-relational mapping framework
  
• 84 months experience in application testing including design and implementation of test plans
  
• 84 months experience in working with HL7 messages
  
• 84 months experience in designing interfaces with SAS server environment
  
• Bachelor's Degree

Day-to-Day tasks

• Provide technical guidance to the project team in order to ensure that system support is maintained during the Software Development Life Cycle.
  
• Develop system design for improving ECLRS performance; receiving non-human results (eg. mosquito, mammal, and tick) from labs and populating to CDESS vector surveillance system; archive ECLRS database to improve performance; add a new drug overdose syndrome to ESSS; designing a new database for accepting urgent care canter data.
  
• Provide system technical specification documents.
  
• Participate in testing, evaluation, and implementation of related software products in order to ensure the software used in the project is compatible from end to end.
  
• Manage code promotions for ECLRS and ESSS through each stage of testing.
  
• Manage tasks assigned to programmers within the project team.
