Job Title: Sr. Systems Programmer (Mainframe)
Location: Hybrid Work Model (3 days per week onsite)
Join our dedicated team of professionals committed to maintaining critical infrastructure for our client. We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Systems Programmer with a focus on mainframe systems. This role is not suitable for entry-level programmers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Mainframe z/OS, including JCL updates and system log monitoring via SDSF.
- Participate in disaster recovery preparations, including hands-on recovery of z/OS and other applications.
- Manage hardware and software support licenses, including purchase requisitions.
- Provide support during required overtime, including weekends and off-hours, for a minimum of four disaster recovery exercises per year.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, OR 4 years of job-related work experience, OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate s degree in a related field.
- 6 years of IT work experience, including varied systems programming experience.
- Proficiency in z/OS, JCL, SDSF, Dataset management.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work extended hours during disaster recovery exercises.
- Eligibility for C2 clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DASD management, z/OS HMC management, APF knowledge, DB2, CICS, MQ, BMC MF applications.
Work Schedule:
- Core hours are 8 AM 5 PM, with required overtime during disaster recovery exercises (up to 12-24 hours), including weekends and off-hours.
- Minimum of four disaster recovery exercises annually, necessitating extended hours.
- Partial onsite presence required: 3 days per week and as needed.
