Job Details
Role: Mainframe developer
Location : onsite (Parsippany, NJ)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe COBOL applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance code quality.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the technical team to ensure alignment on project goals.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong expertise in Mainframe COBOL programming.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing software development projects.
- In depth knowledge of Mainframe architecture and related technologies.
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other Mainframe technologies such as JCL, DB2, and CICS.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices and tools.
- Experience in mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Mainframe COBOL.
- Proven track record of successfully leading technical teams and delivering high quality software solutions.
- Relevant certifications in project management or software development are a plus.
