Technical Writer III - New Glenn

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will lead technical teams to integrate customer payloads onto the New Glenn launch vehicle. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact our relationship with customers and enable integration and launch of their payloads. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Quickly analyze project requirements to determine types of documents needed and build project plans for the delivery of documents
• Build tailored messaging for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, such as:
  • Training materials and how-to guides of new features and functionality, designed for a range of different roles across Blue
  • Updates and release information, messaged across multiple platforms (wikis, emails, slideware, PDFs, etc.).
  • Reference documentation to help product teams in future resolution of any issues
• Work cross-functionally between product development teams, end-user experts, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment to the captured documentation
• Drive standardization and improvement activities of existing product documentation, including regularly reviewing and updating for accuracy
• Plan, design, research, write, and edit a range of documents, including proposal submittals, processes, and training materials
• Support change management initiatives prioritize outputs that support users through change, meet their needs, and drive adoption
• Establish effective communication with major stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in technical writing or equivalent role. A background in or experience writing for technology, engineering, or manufacturing industries is highly valued
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong ability to coordinate and resolve differing opinions
• Experience writing technical procedures and policy, including self-editing
• Highly skilled in creating process and procedure standards
• Superior attention to detail
• Strong understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques
• Ability to absorb and retain information quickly, specifically complex technical information
• Exceptional customer service orientation
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Ability to self-manage activities and projects based on given priorities
• Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization
• Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry experience with launch systems or satellite operations
• Experience developing technical documentation for customer proposals
• Experience with customer deliverables (CDRLs) and supplier deliverables (SDRLs)
• Experience understanding contractual requirements

Compensation Range for:
CO applicants is $99,729.00-$139,619.55;WA applicants is $108,795.00-$152,311.95
