Description
We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator specializing in DB2 to join our team. In this role, you will design, manage, and maintain critical database systems to ensure optimal performance and security. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and support the organization's technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain complex DB2 database systems to meet organizational needs.
Optimize database performance through advanced troubleshooting and query tuning.
Develop and enforce security policies to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with developers, system architects, and IT leadership to establish best practices.
Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies and backup procedures.
Automate administrative tasks to streamline database operations.
Monitor database capacity and recommend changes to improve scalability and efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced database administrators.
Lead performance tuning efforts to ensure reliable application support.
Assist in strategic decision-making related to database architecture and infrastructure.
Requirements
At least 6 years of experience in database administration, preferably in a financial services environment.
Proficiency in working with DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
Strong understanding of relational database architecture and design principles.
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery procedures.
Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and train less experienced team members.
