General Summary:

Join the LPDDR PHY design team at the forefront of developing high-speed, low-power memory interfaces for Qualcomm chipsets, leveraging the latest in process technology. This role offers a dynamic range of responsibilities-from contributing to system architecture and design implementation to validation and silicon bring-up. You'll be involved throughout the entire development cycle, from concept to tape-out and post-silicon validation.

This role requires the candidate to be onsite in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive the analysis and architectural ownership of LPDDR PHY systems.
  • Develop comprehensive system timing budgets, encompassing both on-die and off-chip components.
  • Perform in-depth signal and power integrity analysis to ensure robust performance.
  • Lead the design and delivery of industry-leading LPDDR PHY solutions tailored to product requirements.
  • Coordinate project execution across all sub-IP teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Qualifications and Expertise:
  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience in LPDDR design and development.
  • Strong expertise in LPDDR PHY systems, including architecture, training algorithms, and integration strategies.
  • Deep understanding of package and PCB design, with a focus on timing budgets, signal integrity, and power delivery networks.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and globally distributed teams, supported by excellent communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of design-for-yield principles and production-level challenges specific to DDR systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to DDR, GDDR, and wide-memory systems.
  • Experience in latest process technology nodes and mixed-signal designs
  • Good understating of JEDEC specs and timing parameters.
  • Unix/Perl/TCL scripting (must be comfortable with writing scripts)

Educational Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering
  • Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$192,000.00 - $288,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
