Job Description

The Integration Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operation of multiple integration platforms and delivering sophisticated integration solutions that enable seamless data transformation, data transfer, and transaction processing across enterprise applications, data stores, and external entities. This position offers the opportunity to lead technical strategy and drive innovation in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment where technology directly supports the delivery of electricity to millions of Texans.

In this role, you'll collaborate with enterprise architects, project managers, and both onshore and offshore Agile teams to design, develop, and implement integration solutions that align with organizational objectives. You'll be responsible for managing vendor relationships, developing product roadmaps, and ensuring that integration platforms operate reliably in production environments. This position reports to senior technology leadership and will manage cross-functional teams while working closely with stakeholders across the organization to anticipate future integration requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, configuration, and implementation of integration solutions using middleware, ETL, B2B Integration, File Transfer, API Management, and Reporting technologies.
  • Manage the production operation of integration platforms to ensure reliability, performance, and availability of critical systems.
  • Develop product roadmaps for integration technologies and maintain rigorous upgrade schedules to avoid loss of vendor support and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate with enterprise architects to ensure integration solutions and technology roadmaps align with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead rapid response efforts for production failures, assess transaction processing impacts, and communicate status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Guide continuous improvement initiatives, participate in root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurring issues.
  • Manage vendor licensing models, costs, and renewals in collaboration with Commercial Governance teams.
  • Assist Project Managers with CAPEX budget management and oversee integration project portfolios.
  • Lead onshore and offshore Agile teams consisting of developers, analysts, and project managers to deliver integration solutions.
  • Consult with Project Managers and Technology Leads to understand project scope, identify interdependencies, and manage associated risks.
  • Foster team collaboration, recommend process improvements, and evangelize industry trends that enhance delivery and results.
  • Develop and report on performance metrics aligned with organizational goals, reviewed quarterly for continuous improvement.
  • Assess and anticipate future integration requirements through stakeholder consultation and develop long-term strategic plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships and escalate technical issues to vendors as needed to ensure timely resolution.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Minimum three years of management and/or supervisory experience leading technical teams.
  • Five years of hands-on experience with data integration technologies (middleware, ETL, B2B Gateways, EDI, File Transfer) with proven success in complex organizations.
  • Experience leading technology teams through design, development, testing, configuration, and implementation phases with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Strong leadership, people management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnering abilities across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to articulate complex system issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally.
  • Experience communicating with third-party vendors to acquire updates and coordinate deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop goals, measure results, and hold teams accountable to program and project management best practices.
  • Effective analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment where multiple projects require simultaneous participation.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with middleware, ETL, or B2B technologies on UNIX platforms.
  • Proficiency with SQL for data querying and manipulation (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience working with Agile teams, tools, and practices (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.).
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with operational support, including responding to production problems and driving service resolution.
  • Passion for staying current with industry-leading standards and emerging technologies in the integration space.

Education

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field strongly encouraged.
