Job Description
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Test and rework prototype hardware consisting of complex surface mount devices. Soldering skill with surface mounted parts is a requirement. Must be able to competently perform rework including the creation of daughter cards, replacement of multiple types of IC's (no BGA's) and replacement of components down to 0402 size.
- Use basic test equipment (digital oscilloscopes, volt meters) and knowledge of electronics layout schematics to find and resolve root cause of PCB failures.
- Perform basic trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions.
- Manage the configuration of the hardware within a large number (20) of complex engineering prototype systems.
- Perform software and hardware evaluation and implement plans using knowledge of product, system operation, intermodular interactions, engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required.
- Utilize basic technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability.
- Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.
- General direction is given in the execution of job-related activities.
- Comply with EHS regulations and policies.
