Job Details

Job: Network Support Specialist - Intermediate

Location: Columbia, SC, USA(Onsite)

The Network Support Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the DJJ network infrastructure and Office 365 tenant, ensuring reliable network connectivity and access across all critical sites. The role involves both routine tasks and limited on-call responsibilities, focusing on wired and wireless networking, account management, and infrastructure-related projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help Desk & Ticket Management

  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to:

    • Wired and wireless network issues

    • Network account onboarding/offboarding using custom scripts

    • Infrastructure-related incidents

On-Call Support Rotation

  • Provide Level 1 on-call support every 3 weeks for critical site network outages.

  • Provide Level 2 on-call support every 3 weeks (alternating with Level 1) for escalated issues.

Infrastructure Projects

  • Assist with network rollouts, upgrades, and cleanup activities.

  • Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure improvements.

  • Maintain network documentation and asset inventory.

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, and user provisioning.

  • Administer Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Support Windows Server maintenance, including performance monitoring, patching, and updates.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft administration.

  • 5+ years of experience with Windows Server environments.

  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting wired and wireless network issues.

  • 5+ years of experience handling help desk requests via ticketing systems.

  • Strong independent work, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Deskpro ticketing system.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.

  • Experience with RuckBrocade network switches.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience.
