Project Manager
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 6+ months (35 hrs/week)
Phone/Skype Hire. Onsite from day 1
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Project Manager to oversee initiatives, manage project lifecycles, coordinate teams, and conduct research. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment. This position requires a highly analytical and results-oriented professional who is an effective project manager, a strategic leader, and a skilled communicator with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director for Employees Safety, the Employee Safety Project Manager will manage several crucial unit projects. Projects include but are not limited to evaluation and updates to safety training program and metrics, assisting with process documents and manuals, and overseeing updates to existing programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Deputy Director with project-managing Employee Safety projects and agency-wide projects that support EHS mission to improve environmental health and safety at NYCHA.
- Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects, ensuring projects are completed according to outlined objectives, and project timelines.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, schedules, minutes, action items and budgets.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure flawless project execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks or issues.
- Monitor and report project progress using appropriate tools (e.g., Gantt charts, dashboards).
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic decisions.
- Conduct operational analysis to understand the interrelationships between functions and departments and to identify the impact of changes in one part of the organization to the other.
- Conduct independent research of varying difficulty and complexity to provide findings and make recommendations to EHS leadership to obtain optimum organizational efficiency
- Lead meetings with subject matter experts to obtain process and procedural information.
- Work with EHS personnel to incorporate internal controls that close policy and compliance gaps in procedural documents.
- Edit documents of a high degree of difficulty and complexity.
Must Possess:
- Strong communication, report writing, and time management skills.
- Experience developing and executing project plans
- Ability to independently manage assigned projects.
- Experience with Microsoft products (outlook, excel, powerpoint, ect.)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, and other relevant safety regulations.
