Summary
We're seeking a CCNA-certified Network Engineer for a short-term engagement in Irvine, CA to assist our client during a critical project phase. This role will support both off-shore network resources and on-site cabling teams, ensuring seamless communication and execution of network tasks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wireless configurations, troubleshooting, and installations, and be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site in Irvine, CA during daylight business hours to support cabling teams and off-shore engineers.
• Perform network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and wireless access points.
• Coordinate with remote teams to execute planned network changes and resolve connectivity issues.
• Validate cabling and network installations to meet project standards and documentation requirements.
• Provide hands-on assistance with hardware installs, testing, and end-user network readiness.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution of all technical problems.

Required Skills

• Active CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in network support or implementation roles.
• Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and wireless configurations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both on-site and remote teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a client-facing environment.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with Meraki or other Cisco wireless platforms.
• Familiarity with network documentation and Visio or similar tools.
• Exposure to structured cabling environments or data center installations.
• Basic knowledge of firewall configurations and network security principles.
