Title: Director Operations Learning Process Enablement
Location: Reston, VA (Remote)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Overview
We re seeking a Director of Learning Process Enablement to serve as the central hub for delivering high-impact learning solutions. This role bridges instructional design, systems implementation, and operational process optimization. You will lead strategies to streamline learning delivery, establish governance frameworks, and enhance learner engagement across both internal and external audiences.
Key Goals & Success Metrics
- Increase capacity for best-in-class learning content development
- Document and roll out end-to-end SOPs and toolkits within the first 120 days.
- Ensure 90% compliance with standard intake and production workflows for new content.
- Enhance trust, accessibility, and confidence in learning content
- Ensure 100% compliance with governance policies for all new or updated training materials.
- Bring 80%+ of legacy content in line with new standards within 12 months.
- Boost learner engagement and system efficiency
- Deliver at least 3 cross-functional enablement projects on time and within scope in year one.
- Achieve an average satisfaction score of 4.0/5.0 or higher from at least 60% of targeted learners in pilot projects.
Responsibilities
Learning Process Enablement & Optimization (40%)
- Analyze and standardize end-to-end learning delivery workflows.
- Create SOPs and enablement toolkits for consistent content development and deployment.
- Improve usability, accessibility, and performance of LMS-based learning experiences.
Governance & Standards Stewardship (30%)
- Develop and oversee governance policies for content lifecycle, version control, and accessibility.
- Implement request intake and prioritization processes.
- Monitor training engagement and feedback to guide improvements.
Learning Portfolio Management (30%)
- Manage cross-functional learning enablement projects from concept to launch.
- Maintain project timelines, plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate stakeholder forums for transparency and accountability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in learning operations, process management, or program enablement in a matrixed organization.
- Experience building governance frameworks and optimizing learning systems (LMS experience preferred).
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Confluence, JIRA, Articulate 360, and project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project).
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and change management skills.
- Strategic thinker who can balance vision with hands-on execution.
- Willingness to travel 4 6 times per year.
