IT Enterprise Architect
Location: New Orleans, LA Onsite, Full Time
JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to help establish a modern, cloud-first IT landscape to support a large multi-state customer base. The Enterprise Architect will own the end-to-end architecture practice - governing standards, guiding solution design, and driving resiliency across all technology domains.
This leader brings deep technical breadth, hands-on implementation expertise, and the ability to leverage generative AI to boost productivity and accelerate solution delivery. Strong technical expertise paired with effective communication skills is essential to align business, security, and operational goals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Governance & Reviews

Chair the Solution Review Board for projects and major changes.

Lead Architectural Review Boards on standards, patterns, new technologies, and roadmaps.

Conduct readiness reviews before go-live to ensure non-functional requirements are met.
Strategy & Planning

Develop and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business growth.

Publish and maintain enterprise standards (cloud reference architectures, integration patterns, data models).

Drive architecture strategy supporting SaaS-first, reliability, cost optimization, zero-trust, and AI adoption goals.
Design & Documentation
-
Produce high-level and detailed solution designs across application, data, infrastructure, and security layers.

Build and review configurations, workflows, and prototypes to validate designs.

Maintain authoritative architectural documentation in ServiceNow Knowledge & CMDB.
Assessment & Continuous Improvement

Conduct annual platform assessments (Azure, OCI, M365, Meraki, Palo Alto, etc.).

Track KPIs for availability, performance, cost, and security posture.

Use generative AI to optimize documentation, automate analysis, and accelerate decisions.

Lead disaster recovery planning to meet 99.99% uptime targets.
Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with Cloud, ServiceNow, ITIL, Network, and Data teams plus strategic vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, Accenture, Cisco).

Mentor engineers and architects, emphasizing hands-on skills and AI-assisted practices.

Represent Technology Operations in executive forums, translating technical decisions into business-focused outcomes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
-
In lieu of degree: 4 additional years of enterprise architecture experience.
Experience
-
10+ years in enterprise architecture, including 5+ years leading governance initiatives.

Strong preference for experience in utilities, energy, or asset-intensive industries.
Skills & Knowledge
-
Hands-on leadership in Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
-
ITSM / ITIL processes, Meraki networking, zero-trust security, HA & DR design.
-
Practical application of generative AI for architecture and operations.
-
Proven success running architecture boards and influencing senior stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications
-
TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, OCI Architect, or equivalent.

ITIL v4 Foundation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Onsite, professional office setting with occasional field inspections.
-
Ability to work regular hours with occasional overtime and emergency callouts.
