Lead LLM Engineer

The Role

We re looking for a Founding LLM Engineer to lead this effort from the ground up. You ll design and build AI copilots and assistants that automate tasks like querying campaign performance data, summarizing anomalies, interpreting logs, and guiding campaign setup.

This is a greenfield opportunity to have immediate impact: fast feedback from internal users, full ownership of the technical stack, and the backing of a mature adtech platform with real scale.

What You ll Do

• Design and build LLM-powered internal tools and assistants for analyst and AdOps workflows
• Translate natural language inputs into complex SQL queries or campaign actions
• Build copilots that interpret logs, summarize campaign performance, and recommend optimizations
• Prototype using commercial (OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, etc.) and open-source LLMs
• Fine-tune LLMs or customize models for task-specific performance as needed
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines where appropriate
• Collaborate with analysts, PMs, and engineers to identify high-impact automation opportunities
• Define architectural patterns, tools, and best practices for LLM integrations
• Stay current on the evolving LLM ecosystem (APIs, tooling, frameworks)

What We re Looking For

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend or full-stack chops
• Demonstrated experience building production-grade LLM applications or assistants
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with LLM developer tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, or embeddings
• Experience fine-tuning or customizing LLMs for specific applications
• Solid grasp of SQL and experience working with large analytical databases
• Experience integrating APIs, handling async workflows, and deploying scalable backend services
• Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and end-to-end ownership
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner across functions

Bonus Points For

• Adtech experience or a strong intuition for campaign performance metrics
• Prior leadership or mentorship experience
